The Rehabilitation Services Department at SCCH offers a wide range of treatment to patients across the lifespan…infants to the elderly…to achieve their maximum potential in life, in sport, and in the workforce.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Evaluation and treatment of physical therapy impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities following illness or injury to prevent, correct, or alleviate deficits.  Back and spine care, pelvic floor rehabilitation, elderly exercise and fitness, functional (Phase I) cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, wound and skin care, balance training, work conditioning, post amputation training, stroke rehabilitation, joint and soft tissue injury, post fracture rehab, total joint replacement, central nervous system disease, and pediatric development delay are examples of conditions addressed in Physical Therapy.

 

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Evaluation and treatment of physical impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities following illness or injury that affect the ability to manage the activities of daily living. Adaptive equipment training, fine motor skill recovery, repetitive stress injuries, home safety evaluations, custom splinting, pediatric developmental delay, visual deficits, learning disorders, and self care difficulties are issues addressed in Occupational Therapy.

 

SPEECH THERAPY

Evaluation and treatment of impairment in the ability to process, comprehend, and produce speech; impairment in the ability to swallow; impairment in language development. Stroke, pediatric development delay, brain injury, voice disorders/vocal cord injury, learning disabilities, and swallow difficulties involving all ages may be referred to Speech Therapy.

Our Rehabilitation Team is Committed to Your Care!

Rehabilitation Services at SCCH includes Sports and Industrial components.  Certified Athletic Trainer, Tobie Steele is our liaison at Sullivan High School where she assesses student athlete injuries and provides acute care, then coordinates further care with the physician and the Rehab Dept. as indicated. Both of these groups of patients may be evaluated and treated by our Physical or Occupational Therapists. Work related hearing screens are provided by our Speech-Language Pathologist.
