| SCCH Scholarship Application Forms Now Available |  | |
The Sullivan County Community Hospital Foundation is offering two new scholarships in 2011 for Sullivan County residents who are or will be students in the medical/healthcare field. They will be available to high school seniors, students who are currently enrolled in college, and/or to non-traditional students wishing to go back to school to pursue a degree for a healthcare career.
Students applying for the scholarships will be required to fill out the scholarship application in full, as well as submitting a transcript from the last year completed in school, and three letters of recommendation from people who are not related to them (former/present employers, school counselors, teachers, mentors, family friend, etc.). Once all of the appropriate forms, letters and transcripts are received by the scholarship committee, an interview will be set up with selected candidates to discuss his/her future plans for his/her career.
The 2011 scholarships will be worth up to $2,500 each, with half being paid to the school of choice in the fall semester, and half in the spring 2012 semester. Scholarship applications are currently available at area universities and technical schools with healthcare programs, as well as all Sullivan County high schools. Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, March 11, 2011 at 5 p.m. ET to the Sullivan County Community Hospital Marketing/PR/Foundation office at 2200 North Section Street, Sullivan, IN 47882.
