The second annual "Lighten Up Sullivan County" community weight loss program is set to begin with a mandatory weigh-in on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Teams of 4 compete to see which team can lose the most percentage of body weight by July 12, 2011. The winning team will receive $1,000. Cost to participate is $20 per team. Each team member must participate in the mandatory weigh-in sessions (there are two), and may only miss one of the regular weigh-in sessions for the team to remain eligible for the grand prize. Weigh-ins are on the second Tuesday of each month at the SCCH Fitness Center, Milburn's Pharmacy and the SCCH Large Conference Room.
Sponsors of Lighten Up Sullivan County are the SCCH Fitness Center, Milburn's Pharmacy, Springer Insurance, Joe's Italian Food, Miller's Merry Manor and the Sullivan Daily Times. Applications may be picked at any of these locations. Applications must be turned in no later than February 6, 2011. Call the SCCH Fitness Center at (812) 268-2536 for more information.
