 Sports/Industrial Rehabilitation at SCCH:
Sullivan County Community Hospital has established a service line aimed at assisting those with work-related or sports injuries. SCCH Sports/Industrial Rehabilitation is a collaboration between the hospital’s Rehab Services department, the SCCH Fitness Center and Athletic Trainer Tobie Steele.
Patients are assessed and treated in the Rehab Services department by Physical Therapists Susan Doty, Amy Pirtle and Erin Dean. Physical therapy assistants Karen Harper, Terri Hendershot, Trudie Lee and Stacy Marchino also treat patients after their initial assessments. In addition, equipment in the SCCH Fitness Center will be utilized for further treatment progression. Athletic Trainer Tobie Steele treats student athletes at Sullivan High School sports practices and competitions.

The Physical Therapy staff at SCCH has many years of experience in treating sports and industrial related injuries. They provide quality, compassionate care to the patient in order to get them back in the game or the workforce as quickly as possible.
Kurt Madsen, MD, orthopedic surgeon, is serving as Medical Director for the Sports/Industrial Rehabilitation program at Sullivan County Community Hospital. Dr. Madsen has performed a number of procedures at SCCH, including kyphoplasty, total joint replacement and fracture repair. Dr. Madsen is available on a consultative basis as indicated, and is taking appointments at the SCCH Specialty Clinic every other Tuesday afternoon.
