| Sullivan County Community Hospital’s Medical/Surgical Unit provides quality care for patients of all ages with a wide range of acute and/or chronic illnesses. Patients requiring a shorter length of stay for evaluation or testing purposes, as well as those who require surgery are included on Med/Surg. The unit consists of all private rooms, seven of which are ADA handicapped accessible. Cardiac telemetry monitoring is also provided for those who may need it during their stay. |  | |

| .25 | The Swingbed Program is designed for those patients unable to care for themselves and requiring additional therapy and/or care prior to discharge. Patients admitted to the Swingbed Program remain on the Med/Surg Unit to receive the additional care and therapy. Additional activities for these patients are coordinated by the Activity Director with their interests and abilities taken into consideration. Patients must meet certain Medicare guidelines to be admitted into the program. Occasionally, commercial insurance policies will provide for skilled nursing in a swing bed program and will recommend the program for persons needing further rehabilitation. |
