The Infusion Services department at Sullivan County Community Hospital provides care to patients who are in need of blood transfusions, or IV therapies, such as IV antibiotic treatments which your physician may order on a series basis.
Those patients who are to receive blood transfusions will need to have their blood typed and matched one day prior to their transfusion so the appropriate blood will be available at the time of treatment. Previously, these patients were admitted to the hospital, but the Infusion Services area will allow these treatments to now be performed on an outpatient basis.
Physicians may also order one-time treatments for their patients including narcotic administration, enemas, or Foley catheter placement.
About our facilities:
Patients in the Infusion Services area will find brand new recliners and flat screen television sets in each cubicle, with access to hospital beds if that is their preference for a more comfortable treatment experience.
Access to the Infusion Services area:
Entrance to the area is much more patient friendly than in the past, due to a new waiting area with an automatic door, located in the hallway between the main lobby of SCCH and the cafeteria. Once inside of the waiting room, patients will utilize the door to the left to access Infusion Services.
Staff is available in the SCCH Infusion Services department for evening and weekend appointments in order to accommodate the scheduling needs of our patients.
We realize the importance of timely treatment in order to return you to your normal activities as quickly as possible.
Please feel free to contact the SCCH Infusion Services department if you have any questions or concerns prior to your treatment.
